Roller Race Series
Various Dates
January-February
Looking
for six minutes of pain this winter? Hopping on your bike for the indoor 2-mile
time trial on rollers may be for you. Rollers are a type of bicycle trainer
that make it possible to ride a bicycle indoors without moving forward. Rollers
do not attach to the bicycle frame, and the rider must balance him or herself
on the rollers while riding. Racing is done on one of two sets of rollers, each
connected to a computer that calibrates each riders distance and time. The fastest
one to ride two miles wins. The eight-race series begins with the Valley West
Wipeout on Jan. 8 and finishes with the Ames Assault race on Feb. 26. For more
information on the series and each race, point your browser to www.thefullsked.com.
